Mobile backgrounds

When I got myself a new mobile phone last autumn, it came with a nice background picture showing Westminster, with flying birds, moving clouds and varying light depending on the time of the day.

I didn’t think much more about this at first, but when Phyllis and I went to Latvia a few months later, I suddenly noticed that the background had changed, and we later found the buildings depicted in the centre of R?ga.

Since then, we’ve been to Denmark and Italy, and it seems to have a new moving picture for every country (see my collection here).

I haven’t been able to find any information about it, so I guess I have to travel to all countries of the World soon to get the complete list! 😉

Escaping alarm clock

I saw this alarm clock mentioned on /. today.

According to the page, it’s “[t]he alarm clock that runs away and hides when you don’t wake up. […] [I]f you snooze, Clocky will jump off of your nightstand and wheel around your room looking for a place to hide.”

How cool is that? It costs £25 (DKK 275), but unfortunately, the website only delivers to the US and Canada. 🙁

Mobile phone

I’ve been using pay-as-you-go from Tesco Mobile with an ancient Nokia phone for ages. However, I just realised that for the amount of money I spend every month topping up my mobile, I can move to a monthly payment plan with O2 and get a new Samsung D900 for free. So I just ordered that. Hopefully I won’t regret it…
